Flint water crisis

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I want to switch it up a little bit from my normal style posts to something else that I feel really needs to be addressed: the Flint water crisis. Water is something that is necessary for survival and is something people often take for granted. According to an article on http://www.theroot.com, “the people of Flint, Michigan have been without clean water for more than 1,462 days.” There have been thousands of residents who have been exposed to contaminated water.

As a current resident of the state of Michigan, I want to help out. I will be making a donation to http://www.unitedwaygenesee.org in order to help the people of Flint gain access to clean water. If you are interested in helping out too you can also make a donation, donate bottled water or even volunteer your time. This site offers lots of ways to help.

I understand that not everyone may want to help out with this cause and that is okay but I hope this will encourage you to find another cause close to your heart. I want to commit to making the world a better place and I feel that even though this may be a small step, it is a start. I hope you all enjoyed this post and found some of this information interesting. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
